Chop-chop and Botha and August are gone!

The Hout Bay United Football Community (HBUFC) have chopped two of their high-profile coaches, head coach Ryan Botha and his assistant Bradley August.

Botha confirmed the news on Sunday stating he was completely shocked by the club’s decision.

“Just a couple of months ago I signed an extension thinking that I can plan ahead now,” said Botha.

“However, now I have to make alternative plans by getting my CV ready, you know. For now, I’ll spend some time with the wife before I take on the next challenge.”

Botha, a former pro player with Moroka Swallows and Platinum Stars lost the stream by one point to Zizwe United during last season’s Second Division campaign of Safa Cape Town.

Under normal circumstances, his progression wasn’t too shabby for the coastal club but at the same time, it did him no good.

Meanwhile August said he has made peace with the fact that his services were abruptly ended.

“Due to budget constraints, we were let go,” August confirmed.

“Everything in life comes down to finances. But look, let’s see what is out there and what comes up,” August concluded.
