The Second Division newbies Eagle Performance Academy (EPA) could be in for a rude awakening – before even stepping on the field or kicking a ball.
No Bones With Jones has been reliably informed that the purchase of Ukhanya United’s ABC Motsepe status for under R500 000, has not been finalised.
We can also confirm that the money is currently in a trust fund because neither the (Western Cape) province nor the (Safa Cape Town) region has given the green light or their blessing to process the takeover.
It is believed that the EPA, which belongs to the Ocean View LFA, has no tangible members affiliated to them, which makes the club ineligible to compete within Safa CT’s structures.
According to the region’s constitution, they need to at least have two senior and two junior divisions to constitute a legitimate club.
EPA’s co-owner and technical director Damien Hegg indicated that he has no concerns regarding the matter, adding that everything “is actually bullet-proof.”
“For now, we are training and planning and everything is going according to plan,” Hegg stated. “We planned with the EPA so we don’t see why it shouldn’t be like that. It is just that we are doing our things in the background. I think in a different culture we would have communicated like three months ago already,” Hegg concluded.
