La Masia FC is making Cape Town their preferred place of shopping with yet another possible capture of the Mother City’s fine talent in Emeraan Rayners from Diadora FC.
No Bones with Jones can confirm that Emeraan, younger brother of Stellenbosch FC’s goal poacher Iqraam Rayners, has been offered a trial to join the National First Division club coached by former Bafana Bafana player Daine Klate.
The 23-year-old striker, who can play on both wings, is scheduled to leave next week for a week-long assessment.
“I am confident that Emraan will make us proud,” said a source close to Diadora FC. “He’s a player that has got everything in his locker and will add value to any squad.”
Emeraan’s spell with Stellenbosch’s Diski team a couple of seasons ago was cut short by a recurring hamstring injury and he had to return home where he played with Diadora FC at LFA level.
Emeraan was also part of Diadora’s treble-winning side where his eye for goals was instrumental in the cup success chipping in with 15 goals in all competitions.
Should the talented striker get the nod, he will join up with fellow Capetonians like Gregory Roelf, Samodien May and Niyaaz Josephs to name a few who have all been poached by the Westbury-based club.
