TS Galaxy Queens head coach Ashraf Calvert admitted that he is thrilled to have captured the services of the talented Cape Town-born attacker Alicia Tehart (pictured) from the Sasol League champions UCT Ladies.
No Bones with Jones can confirm that the 19-year-old who hails from Belhar could potentially make her pro debut for the Queens when they travel to City Lads on Wednesday for a Hollywoodbets Super League encounter.
“This is because we have two wingers that are currently nursing injuries so she comes at a good time,” Calvert stated to No Bones with Jones. “I have been following her career ever since my departure from Vasco and I am excited for what she can bring to the team,” said Assie, as Calvert is affectionately known.
Calvert feels that this move will increase the chances of this outstanding striker to being selected for Banyana Banyana in the near future.
“People will get to see the value that she can add on a higher level,” Calvert further explains.”She is a very skilful and tricky striker that can shoot with both feet with good aerial ability as well. So, don’t be surprised if she gets a national call-up,” Calvert added.
Tehart is no stranger to success after she won the treble with Vasco Ladies under the mentorship of Calvert in 2021 as well as a second league medal with her former UCT Ladies outfit last season
