Three National First Division playoff campaigns on a trot is certainly no mean feat.
In fact, I can’t recall it being done in the modern era. If this was achieved by perhaps a Joburg-based player then it would probably have been shown on one of SuperSport’s channels, but because it is Nuzhad Pail, aka ‘Scara’, now it is only No Bones with Jones talking about it.
Be that as it may… the 30-year-old midfielder is one of the most experienced campaigners after qualifying for a hat-trick of playoff campaigns after FN Rangers brushed aside Antalyaspor Cape Town (Clarewood JPM) by 2-0 in the provincial final a couple of weeks ago.
Pail, who may have lost his pace but none of his football brain, now has a chance to win back-to-back promotion titles after winning it with Upington City last season and his experience is one of the key reasons why coach Arreshaat Daniels recruited his services.
Pail also tasted defeat twice with Glendene United a couple of seasons ago before the club’s status was sold.
The former Milano United and Cape Umoya midfielder will also be able to add valuable insight on the sides from the North due to his time with Upington City last season.
According to Pail, he is grateful to add his experience and services where he can.
“As we all know Rangers have quality players and we all have a role to play,” he told No Bones with Jones. “I think what will be key at the playoffs is that we have to stay focussed and disciplined, you know.
“We must be consistent in everything that we do, on and off the field. We are leaving a couple of days sooner to settle in and adjust, which is good. We must be as relaxed as possible. with only the playoffs on our minds,” Pail concluded.
