Diadora ready to bury opponents in ‘Graveyard League’: ropes in former Santos star

Diadora FC, the Hollywoodbets Third Division newcomer, has been relatively subdued – until now.

No Bones with Jones can confirm that major developments have taken place behind the scenes – such as the former Santos star Zain Abrahams (pictured right) being roped in to assist coach Shakes Mangaliso (pictured left) for their debut season.

Abrahams, who played close to 50 games between 2004 and 2009, has been appointed with a long-term vision in mind.

The 38-year-old will work closely with Mangaliso and both are very ambitious coaches.

The duo has already hinted that their objective is to win promotion in the first season. Diadora will definitely ruffle feathers in the Third Division, dubbed the “Graveyard league” for its cutthroat nature.

Furthermore, our website can confirm that the Hanover Park-based club has signed an agreement with the Gugulethu LFA to play their home games at the NY49 from 1 October 2024. This is predominantly due to the fact that there are never facilities available to use for the treble champion of last season.

Needless to say, this is quite sad that Diadora has to take its home games and training sessions out of the area of Hanover Park and away from its loyal and partisan supporters – but it’s harsh reality hence they had to move on where they would be welcome and cordially received.

No Bones with Jones can also confirm that Diadora has sealed a long-term technical sponsorship deal from the famous sports brand, Pony.

With the apparel sponsor Diadora has certainly put itself in good stead ahead of the debut campaign.
