‘Balla’ eager to learn from the “best in the business” at Third Division newbie Diadora FC

One man’s ‘trash’ is another man’s treasure!

With this in mind, Diadora FC, the Hollywoodbets Third Division newbie, has seized the opportunity to pounce in securing the services of Sardick ‘Balla’ Barends.

Barends has been the talk of the town lately following his abrupt exit from Goulburn Athletic on Friday.

The 31-year-old young coach was well on his way to take Goulburn to a potential second successive Coke Cup final but jumped ship due to working conditions becoming untenable.

The Bonteheuwel-based side subsequently bowed out of the Coke Cup following a 0-2 loss to Vasco da Gama in the quarterfinal at the Downberg Road Sports complex in Hanover Park.

Diadora confirmed Barends’ capture on social media on Monday evening.

“We trust your stay will be enjoyable as we drift the ocean waves ashore,” was the welcome message to their new coach.

According to Barends he needed a new challenge and the only way is to start from the bottom in one of the toughest leagues.

“It’s important for me to learn, observe, and take in as much as I can as I continue to grow in this space,” Barends told our website.

“What really drew me to the club is its clear goals and vision, which align with my own ambitions.

“I’m fully committed to helping achieve those goals to the best of my ability. The chairman Shahied Abrahams was very clear about the club’s objectives and I’m excited to be part of this project and contribute to its success,” Barends added.

Our website understands that Barends will assist and rub shoulders with some of the best in the business in Mangaliso ‘Shakes’ Ntombana, as well as newly appointed coach Zain Abrahams.
