UCT Ladies ready to spring a surprise on Kovsies in Playoff semi’s

UCT Ladies interim coach Kamaal Sait hinted that Kovsies could be in for a surprise when these two square up (15:00) in the semifinal of the Sasol League’s National playoffs in Knysna’s Loerie Park.

The winner of this clash will face the winner between Ramatlaohle (Limpopo) and Ezemvelo Ladies from KZN who play in the first semifinal. at 11:00.  The two finalists both secure automatic promotion to the HollywoodBets Super League.

UCT, who’s campaign has had several off the field setbacks, picked a draw against Ezemvelo of KZN and beat Sophakama of the Eastern Cape to set a last four-tie with the Free State champion on Friday (today).

The latter also had the advantage of studying UCT during their match against Sophakama yesterday.
But Sait, was not the least concerned as he is well aware that they have the luxury of (quality) depth which has always been one of UCT’s strong points as they have shown in the past.

Their ability to make like-for-like changes without disturbing the shape of rhythm of the team is second to none.  And according to Sait this is all due to the fantastic work done by the coaching team the previous couple of seasons.

“When we were back in Cape Town and their teams came to watch, they came to analyse, they planned and when they came to play against us then it was a whole new team they were playing against. Here you must give credit to Parker, Shaquille and Kapman, you know.

“They are the ones who keep teams guessing and the opponents don’t know what they are up against. And I’m hoping Kovsies today fall into the same trap because they were there yesterday watching our game but we might have a surprise or two in store for them today and let’s hope and pray that it will work out for us. It’s just 90 minutes for us,” Sait concluded.
