In a dramatic twist of events Safa Cape Town is back tracking on its stance on the Wayne Weitz-saga.
No Bones with Jones has reliably learnt that the region, which is set to have its REC meeting on Wednesday (20 November), is to reinstate the suspended treasurer without a hearing or any questioning regarding the alleged transgressions.
Needless to say, this U-turn is in retrospect a serious indictment on the region which was initially hellbent on getting rid of the Metropolitan LFA president.
This comes after the Mother body placed Weitz under suspension to investigate the matter. The region even requested additional time for further investigation into the matter.
The sad reality is that with all the resources and time requested no concrete evidence could be found – other than protocol offenses – that indicates Weitz transgressed.
Our website reached out to Weitz who refused to comment on the issue. One can only imagine the flurry of emotions the Sea Point Swifts member must be experiencing.
