It’s time for ‘Mr. Big’ to change Heideveld LFA’s Fortune.

Some might call it drastic, while others will say it’s much needed and long overdue.

The reality is a shake-up in the administration of the Heideveld LFA is set to unfold when this football organisation holds its annual AGM on 12th April.

No Bones with Jones has gathered that the majority of the clubs at the LFA have called for the head of its current president Ian Pakoe who has been labeled as being “out of touch” with the community’s football public.

“The last straw for me was when the soccer legend in our area (Joppie Petersen) passed and he was nowhere to be seen – and that’s apart from his incompetence and inability to take the LFA to a new level with regards to its administration. One can look back and ask: ‘What did he really do for us?’,” said a source who spoke only under anonymity.

The growing frustration amongst clubs regarding Pakoe’s leadership has forced them to seek a candidate to replace him. Someone who not only understands the football landscape of Heideveld and its passionate fans, but someone who will be able to restore the LFA’s credibility and take the organisation to the next level.

And that someone is a familiar face in Young Prates’ mentor Roger Fortune (pictured).

‘Mr. Big’ – as Fortune is affectionately known as in the soccer fraternity, has a record second to none which speaks for itself, but more importantly, he is a man of principle and is revered and respected by the public of Heideveld and beyond.

Another candidate with strong credentials is Everton’s current chairman Donny Phillips.
