Ashley has ”Sassed” out the playing fields – decides to “come home” to Juvie Boys

Once a Juvie Boy, always a Juvie Boy!

This saying could not be truer as proven by one of Juventus FC’s most beloved and well-known players, Ashley Sass (pictured).

The well-travelled Sass has confirmed that he is “coming home for good”.

The 41-year-old attacker says he has had a couple of offers to play elsewhere in the higher leagues of Safa Cape Town but declined as he’s finally sussed out matters and is intent on going the full circle – returning to a club where he started as a 10-year-old a couple of decades ago.

“I’ve decided to come home and finish my career here at Juventus at the Mitchells Plain LFA,” Sass revealed to No Bones with Jones. “I grew up with them and it’s a club close to my heart, you know. I think now is the right time to give back to them.”

The former Vasco da Gama and Matroosfontein FC winger was also linked with a possible move to Durbanville FC but this was more in hope than anything else.

Sass is adamant that he won’t be lured away from his boyhood club this time around as his mind is made up that there is no place like home with Juventus FC at the Mitchells Plain LFA.

“I can assure you that It won’t happen again,” Sass stated. “I’m staying put at Juventus as I don’t know how long I’m going to be able to play still, so it’s best staying here at home and to help out with maybe coaching of the youngsters,” Sass concluded.
