One could say ‘sanity’ prevailed in the ‘legal’ battle between Hazendal United and its Mother Body, Rygate LFA.
This follows an emergency meeting on Saturday morning where it was decided that Hazendal’s striker Ameen Awaldien will remain suspended until after their Coke Cup clash with Silver Spurs at the Johnston Road Sports Complex in Rylands on Sunday.
Furthermore, it was agreed that Awaldien’s disciplinary hearing which was set for Monday (23 June) will be scrapped and he will be let off the hook with a caution.
Awaldien was suspended by the Rygate LFA last week after allegedly bringing the LFA into disrepute following comments he made on social media.
What was rather strange in this whole fiasco is that Hazendal at one stage had the moral high – until ‘misleading’ evidence within their correspondence to Rygate LFA whereby they attacked the credibility of the Rygate president Abdul Tajoodien – forced them to walk away from the case with their tail between their legs. – with an apology at that!
How’s that for misleading? My, oh my!
