Safa Western Cape has engaged in reckless decision making – and now the chickens have come to roost.
This means that Santos FC was vindicated when the Arbitrator’s Tribunal ruled in favour of the People”s Team on Monday following a month-long back-and-forth legal battle which ended with the province now sitting with egg on their face!
Arbitrator SKD Mdladla reviewed and set aside the “impugned” decisions
In a nutshell, the Arbitrator ordered Safa WC to reinstate Santos back in the ABC Motsepe League as well as the Nedbank Cup with immediate effect.
Mdladla also ordered the province to offset the amount of R10 000 registration fees, Furthermore Safa wc needs to pay the outstanding fees of R64 200 with the balance to be paid within 14 days of the ruling.
Safa WC is also liable for the costs of the council, the costs of the arbitration and the Arbitrator’s costs as well monies and Province must pay costs for everything including Santos’ legal team.
This means that Santos will have to catch-up on the outstanding three league games and feature in their first Nedbank Cup clash against Royal Blues.
This is not just a victory for Santos FC but the football in general!
