If memory serves, a question regarding Safa Cape Town’s financial affairs popped up at the region’s previous congress which was kind of left ‘unanswered.’
One of the LFA’s posed a question pertaining to the absence of the monthly financial reports to which the Safa CT leadership allegedly replied with something along the lines of it does get issued to the REC members who attend these meetings – and that was that!
But, with so many smart and intellectual individuals spread across the various LFA’s, it’s strange that no one is actually asking about the region’s monthly financial statements. Why?
One would like to think that the new treasurer, Sadick Williams who succeeds Wayne Weitz, would have settled in his new position by now to prepare for his new venture as he is a sharp guy.
Also, the veteran football administrator and bookkeeper, Leslie Mondo (pictured), is still officially doing the books of the Cape football Mother body?
No Bones with Jones reached out to the former Northern Suburbs LFA football boss in Mondo, who replied; “I’m no longer doing the books of Safa CT and I think it’s best if you check with the powers that be,” Mondo added.
Our website reached out to Safa CT’s Secretary General Reyaad Joseph, to clarify the matter, but Joseph declined to comment.
In fact, the region has been very subdued of late and one wonders if this is the proverbial calm before the storm. Our website understands that Bailey is attending to some personal issues.
Look, let’s face it, there are several burning issues looming such as the matter with the Sport Stepping Stones (SSS) Foundation regarding the ‘missing’ Palestine funds – not to mention that the region themselves is probably preparing some (legal) onslaught of its own – so, watch this space!
