The development of youth – on and off the field – is the driving force behind Anwar Gallant’s decision to join Motsepe Championship newbies Hope FC.
On Tuesday, the club officially announced Gallant, formerly with Hanover Park FC and Rygersdal FC, as the new head coach of the under -16 side – and brings along a wealth of experience, patience and of course, a winning mentality.
“I’m really excited to join the Immortals,” Gallant told No Bones with Jones. “Those who know me know how passionate I am about youth development. Stepping into the role of under-16 Head Coach feels incredibly meaningful.”
Gallant emphasized that his mission goes beyond football: “My focus is simple – to help develop better people, not just better players. I want to prepare as many of these young men as possible for the next step into our U18 team and eventually the NFD setup.”
He believes Hope FC’s holistic approach sets the club apart. “What makes Hope FC so special is that it’s about so much more than football. It’s about using the game to educate, mentor, and create an environment where young people can grow into the best version of themselves.”
Gallant said the vision of Marlon Parker, Founder of RLABS, and Keagan Buchanan, CEO of Hope FC, resonated deeply with him. “From the moment I heard about their vision, I knew this was something I wanted to be part of. I’ve always wanted to work in a space where we can make a real difference in the lives of young people.”
