Fish on Fire! Again! “It’s More Mental Than Physical” – Striker Reveals Secret Behind Goal-Scoring Prowess

Hanover Park FC’s prolific striker Peter-Wade Fish has credited his strong mentality and unwavering faith as the driving forces behind a remarkable start to the ABC Motsepe League season.

The 26-year-old Bonteheuwel-born frontman has been in red-hot form for the Brasse Vannie Park outfit, scoring six goals and contributing three assists while finding the net in almost every match this campaign. His exploits have not only propelled Hanover Park FC up the standings but also established him as the league’s leading marksman.

“Firstly, glory to God for giving me the ability and strength to deliver as a striker every week,” Fish told No Bones with Jones. “I think my strong mindset and focus throughout the match is something I pray over a lot, as it is more mental than physical for me. You have to be switched on at all times, you know.”

Fish’s clinical finishing has earned him widespread admiration among Hanover Park FC supporters, many of whom have long labelled him the best striker in the league.

The striker, however, remains grounded despite the growing acclaim.

“All glory to God,” said Fish. “And thank you to the fans for such a humbling compliment. But that said, there are 10 other players on the field and without my teammates, this is not possible. I’m humbled and grateful.”

As Fish continues to terrorise rival defences one club may be watching his rise with a mixture of pride and regret. His former club, Santos FC, must surely be wondering where this version of Peter-Wade Fish was during his time in Thornton and, perhaps more importantly, whether they pulled the trigger too soon on a striker who is now proving himself to be one of the most lethal finishers in the ABC Motsepe League.
