“All systems go” for Silver Spurs Legends Festival, says Tajoodien

Victor Tajoodien, Tournament Director of the Silver Spurs Veterans Festival has confirmed the draw for the much-anticipated spectacle will take place (18:30) at the Rylands Civic Centre on Wednesday evening.

This year 24 over 35’s teams, 16 over 40’s, 6 over 45’s and 8 over 50’s teams have entered this annual event that attracts teams from outside the borders of Cape Town such as Worcester.

The tournament kicks off from 29 October until 2 November at the Johnston Road Sport Complex in Rylands.

“I don’t have to tell you that the event is growing every and the legends are very excited to be part of it,” Tajoodien stated to No Bones with Jones. “We were still inundated with requests to join the tournament but we can only accommodate what we can, you know. All the entries are concluded and now it’s all systems go for the draw,” Tajoodien added.

This tournament was brought about for the legends of yesteryear to roll back the clock and show off their skills – albeit in slow-motion.

“It’s also a time for old friends and former teammates to catch up and have some fun,” Tajoodien further added. “Anyone is welcome to come and watch the oldies imagine they are still in their prime,” Tajoodien joked.
