Antalyaspor’s veteran ‘Bolle’ says the hunger for goals is still there

Lesvin Stoffels (pictured) says Cape Town should brace itself for the new ‘Bolle’ – and this confidence bodes especially well for his new ABC Motsepe League club Antalyaspor JPM Cape Town – simultaneously it spells ominous signs for their Motsepe-rivals in Stream B.

“Expect some goals from me as the hunger is still there,” Stoffels told No Bones with Jones. “Beside this, I feel that I have more to offer for the club. But as I explained to the coach I will take it game by game as I need to get my match fitness up to speed as quickly as possible,” he added.

The 35-year-old veteran striker recently returned to the Mother City following a stint with the Premier League outfit Royal AM in Durban where he played nine matches scoring two goals.

Stoffels subsequently injured his knee and was out for 12 months. The former Milano United, Steenberg United and Cape Town All Stars goal poacher made his first appearance during a 0-0 draw against City Kings last week when he got some much-needed game time (20 minutes) under his belt.

“My last competitive game was also in February last year when I injured my knee against SuperSport (United),” Stoffels further stated. “So, it has been a long time coming and I have to admit it felt good to be back (on the field).

“Similarly, it feels good to be back with my loved ones at home. I am now more focused and (goal) driven. After such a long time away from my wife, children and family, you know,” Stoffels concluded.
