After months of sleepless nights and hard work behind the scenes, Futsal Growth have managed to bring the fast-growing Futsal sporting code to the community of Mitchells Plain.
Six local teams, Inter Belhar, Samba 5 Futsal, River Pirates Futsal, Bishop Lavis Futsal, Alpha Fives and Stallions Futsal, have all registered for the Monday night slots at the Portlands Indoor Centre – the new home of of Futsal in the area.
There are still five spots available for the Wednesday night slots which run from 7pm to 10pm.
The league kicks-off from September 4th and the second round of the Social League will run for 10 weeks.
“This is another opportunity for the youngsters to get exposure to the sport of Futsal,” said the man behind the scenes, Faried Davids from Futsal Growth.
“Obviously there are other role players also involved that deserve credit.
“To the FMC of the Portlands facility and Mr Eddie Marshall, I say thank you for your unwavering support and commitment to create this platform for the youngsters,” Davids added.
Portlands becomes the second venue that is now fully up and running along with the College of Cape Town (Crawford Campus), home of the Mustangs Futsal team.
