Safa Cape Town has shown its hand on multiple occasions, and it projects a ‘mafia’ tale that proves that this organisation is a law unto itself.
That a public entity, which should serve the needs of its constituents and all that falls under its banner, dares to undermine its very own constitution, which it regards as the ‘holy book’, to push its own agendas and to avoid transparency and accountability.
This is undeniably what is playing out with the so-called reinstatement of its beleaguered Treasurer, Wayne Weitz (pictured).
Now, bear in mind, Weitz, also the Chairman of Sea Point Swifts and President of the Metropolitan LFA in Bonteheuwel, was found not guilty by the very same DC the region appointed to nail him.
However, the very same DC subsequently found nothing damning and therefore cleared Weitz of any mismanagement or wrongdoing as alleged by the Mother body about two years ago.
Needless to say, justice in its purest and truest form was served which indicates there is still hope for amateur football.
Furthermore, the DC also instructed the region to immediately reinstate Weitz and to publicly apologise to its treasurer. But, it has now been two weeks already and nothing forthcoming from the region to show its remorse.
Instead, the custodians of football in the Cape Metropole released a statement (below) recently whereby it clearly undermines Weitz’s reinstatement which indicates the mafia-style the football public has to deal with.
