Man from Atlantis’ dream drowned in Hout Bay: Tobi vacates hot seat

Tom Tobi has parted ways with FC Hout Bay after an unsettling couple of months in the hot seat.

Tobi’s departure also comes as no surprise as he was recently put under suspension following a run of bad results with the Hollywoodbets Third Division outfit which saw the club languishing in the second-last position on the log with 10 points from 12 matches.

Tobi was also suspended for two weeks recently which also indicated that the relationship between the coach and club had soured.

The Atlantis-born Tobi served his last match in a ‘derby’ against one of his former clubs Jomos Power. This match was abandoned by the referee after a fight broke out between the rival fans

The Atlantis-born Tobi has cited work commitments as the primary reason for his departure from the coastal outfit.

“My work needs my attention on weekends as well and I can’t take leave anymore,” was Tobi’s response to our website.

Hout Bay secretary Lionel Louw confirmed Tobi’s departure adding that the club wished him everything of the best in his future endeavours.
