Safa CT remains tight-lipped months after Treasurer Weitz cleared by DC

Metropolitan LFA vice president Lindsay Davids (pictured) is waiting in anticipation for Safa Cape Town to do the right and honourable thing and officially clear their president, Wayne Weitz.

It has been almost two months since the region exonerated the Metropolitan president from all charges of financial mismanagement and wrongdoing – yet there has been no word from Safa CT regarding this.

Understandably, Safa CT is embarrassed with yolk dripping down its face, but let truth be told, this was all self-inflicted. If there is anyone to blame, then it’s Safa CT itself.

One of the resolutions of the case is that Safa CT should apologise to Wayne publicly – and in writing.
Furthermore, Weitz should be reinstated with immediate effect,  but it appears that the Mother Body has other priorities other than respecting the disciplinary outcome.

What is very disheartening is that many of the executive members did not agree with the region pursuing the case, yet they remained quiet.

Meanwhile, Davids revealed they’re in limbo as they are waiting on official communication from Safa CT to confirm this.

Davids explained: “The same happened last time when something was posted on Facebook, I think it was a Saturday morning or so around 12:00 o’clock when we saw it on Facebook, and we only received the letter the following Monday. But it was already on social media before we were notified.

“And it’s the same the second time round. We know he is free, but nothing has been forthcoming from the region. Therefore, I cannot give any comment regarding that. They must first inform us before we can pursue the matter. But we will send out a press release as soon as we receive communication from Safa CT, but for now, we remain quiet,” Davids concluded.

No Bones with Jones reached out to Safa CT’s General Secretary, Reyaad Joseph, for comment, but he declined by not responding to the messages.
