Hang on… Something doesn’t smell right!
So, another member of the Electoral Committee ‘appointed’ to serve on the panel for Safa Cape Town’s upcoming elections, has vacated the position.
Caroline Peters (pictured), an African feminist and defender of Human Rights, has now become the latest member to withdraw from the panel.
No Bones with Jones has reached out to Peters without any luck as she was at a summit in Johannesburg and not in a position to engage with our website. It’s alleged that the region gave Peters an “unreasonable timeline to confirm whether she is to accept the role, or not.”
This, in essence, means that Peters was basically being ‘forced’ to accept the position without being allowed to do her due diligence regarding this role.
Peters’ withdrawal comes shortly after another member, Mluleki Daniso, confirmed his unavailability to No Bones with Jones due to “personal reasons.” This happened on Monday.
With Safa CT’s elections on the horizon, these developments are rather alarming. Questions are now being asked about the so-called democratic process by which these people were elected.
