Spurs show Lewis the door – Victor takes over with another Lewis – and ‘Giggs’- by his side

As expected, Silver Spurs have parted ways with their experienced coach, Goodwin Lewis, after only three games in charge.

This news was confirmed by Lewis personally on Monday – a day before their home fixture against Wanderers FC at Hickory Road.

“So, your words came true as they fired me,” Lewis confirmed via WhatsApp to No Bones with Jones.
“But ja, it is what it is, and it is part of the job. I knew it after the second loss that my time was up. So, you should get it straight from me,” he added.

The former Safa Cape Town Academy coach further elaborated, “The only thing is this, you can’t fire people as it wasn’t a paid job – it was a voluntary job and people must not misperceive it.

“You are only fired if you are getting paid to do a job, and if you don’t perform the job according to what you are paid, then only you get fired. So, to make it clear, my voluntary position stopped and that’s it,” Lewis concluded.

Meanwhile, Spurs’ Victor Tajoodien confirmed that they have parted ways with Lewis and two of his coaching staff members, Shahied and Malik.

“For now, I’ll be the caretaker coach and Kevin Lewis will be my assistant and I shall rope in my younger brother Cheslyn (Giggs) as well,” Tajoodien concluded.
