No Bones with Jones can confirm that Ashford Athletic’s Pierre Summers has been appointed as the new coach of FC Hout Bay.
FC Hout Bay’s executive unveiled Summers on Thursday evening at a meeting held at their base.
The club’s secretary Lionel Louw confirmed the news to our website adding that no absurd expectations were set other than ensuring that the relegation-threatened Hout Bay retain their Hollywoodbets Third Division status for next season.
“Look, the coaches’ progress will be judged on a month-to-month basis and his main objective is to steer the club to safety as we feel that it is not where we belong,” Louw told No Bones with Jones. “The coach will be assisted by Duncan Adonis,” Louw added.
Very little is known of Summers other than he was part of the technical team along with Sage Fortune who steered Ashford to the league title at Cape District last season.
Summers starts his tenure this weekend with a doubleheader – a tricky home ‘derby’ against Greenwood Athletic on Saturday followed by an away trip to Camps Bay on Sunday.
