The Earl of Hout Bay brings prodigal son Duncan back

The prodigal son has returned home after FC Hout Bay captured the signing of the season in Duncan Adonis.

The main instigator behind this move is Earl Schutte, one of the club’s executive members who brokered the deal with Antalyaspor JPM Cape Town FC, better known as Clarewood JPM hours before the close of the transfer deadline on Friday.

“Honestly speaking, we needed to be patient and we literally had to run around to make this deal happen,” Schutte, conceded to No Bones with Jones.

“But in the end, it materialised and I have no doubt it will be worthwhile. “We wish Duncan and our other recruits all the best for the season ahead. We are confident that they will make us proud and a force to be reckoned with again,” Schutte added.

The 24-year Adonis, who played his junior football at Bayview FC, comes with a wealth of experience after his pro stint with the Premier Soccer League outfit Cape Town City, as well as Ubuntu Academy in the ABC Motsepe Second Division.

Needless to say, he will undoubtedly add more creativity and attacking prowess to coach Tom Tobi’s midfield along with the other ‘newbies’ such as their captain of last season, Nielen Laban, as well as the reserve goalie Mischek Kaulimbo and Simone Lubelwana.

Adonis will probably not feature for Saturday’s home clash against JL Zwane, but suddenly there’s optimism in the coastal outfit and it is more about the prospects on the field and not the abundance of crayfish in the ocean!
