It’s official!
United Aces will again represent the Gugulethu LFA (GULFA) at next week’s Regional Third Division playoffs of Safa Cape Town – just as they did last season but without any luck.
No Bones with Jones can confirm that Aces were declared the champions of their LFA on Friday following a dispute with Man Power FC – who ended in the third position with JL Zwane as runner-up.
This means that Aces will slot in Group F along with Westridge FC, PSV Eindhoven and Chilli Boys for the playoffs which kick off their campaign on Wednesday (25 October) while the other groups commence three days later.
And being a season older and hopefully wiser, the team could be more united this season and even have a few aces up their sleeve – let’s wait and see!
Meanwhile, our website has also been informed that the playoffs will in all likelihood be hosted by the Cape District Football Association again as was the case last season.
This venue just lends itself to this occasion where thousands of fans and spectators gather over the course of five days.
