The ever-growing Futsal sporting code is ready to take the community of Belhar by storm.
This follows another unselfish initiative by Futsal Growth, under the leadership of Faried Davids, who ensures that kids (and adults) across the Cape Flats have access to this growing and exciting sport.
The opening round of the inaugural event takes place from 18:00 at the Belhar Indoor Centre. Six clubs will be participating on the night – Cape Town Titans, T4C, FC Duma, Samba Fives and State Boys will battle it out along with the Mustangs in the age categories from the under-12 to under-16 divisions – the senior matches are scheduled for 21:00.
“It’s important to give up and coming (Futsal) clubs the platform to grow and showcase their talent at their disposal,” said Davids.
The community of Belhar becomes the fourth location where futsal will be up and running after Davids set-up structures in Crawford, UCT and Portlands was launched a while ago.
“This allows clubs to host home games at their respective venues and at the same time nullifies the constant traveling and costs to get to venues where there are facilities.
“It gives kids from the area another option to play the sport right through the year and ensures a balanced lifestyle,” Davids concluded.
