Former Bafana Bafana winger training with Hanover Park FC

Hanover Park chairman Rieduwaan Anthony said nothing is confirmed regarding the services of Riyaad Norodien as he is only training with the club for now.

The former Bafana Bafana winger is a free agent following his return to Ikamva with Cape Town Spurs where he did not feature.

Anthony was rather cagey in elaborating on their desire to permanently acquire the 28-year-old experienced former pro player, adding that his coaching staff must decide.

“He is a very talented player and has a lot of football left in him still,” said Anthony. “But for now he is only training with us. But you know it is open season (transfer window) and people are going all over,” he added.

Anthony did confirm that his center-back Craig Joemath is linked with a possible move to Pretoria Callies, while Caleb Avontuur is on trial with AmaZulu.

“We are a club that doesn’t stand in the way of our players,” Anthony explains. “If I look at the players that came through our ranks, like Samodien May, Kiyaam Bull, Niyaaz Josephs and others, there are a lot of players and you can say that we are a springboard for them to launch their careers.

“People know Hanover Park FC and when they go on trial with a Hanover Park FC clearance then they go through the front door,” Anthony concluded.
