Tafelzucht FC chairman Kenny Hendricks (pictured) has been suspended for five years by the Mitchells Plain LFA for his role in the attempted breakaway from the union.
The MPLFA confirmed this in a statement released on Thursday.
“The LFA MP Constitution, Article 40.3 allows the DC to pronounce sanctions on members, officials, players, clubs and match officials.
“At the time of this matter Mr Hendricks served as an Executive member of the LFA MP and through his unacceptable actions he brought the LFA MP into disrepute and admitted to the charge.
“As a sanction, Mr K Hendricks is banned from holding any Executive position on the LFA MP Exco or LFA MP sub-committees for the next five years,” the statement read.
Meanwhile, two of the other five co-accused Dion Warner (Cedar Park) and Granville Solomons, (Red Rovers) have also been found guilty and suspended for three years for their roles in the attempted breakaway.
This duo along with three others Ismail Du Toit (Westridge FC), Nino Solomons (Rock-A-Fellas) and Gerald Cookson (Kenpark United) were present at the meeting held on 26 July at the Rocklands Sportfield to discuss a breakaway and the formation of a third LFA in Mitchells Plain.
Du Toit, Solomons and Cookson have been exonerated for their alleged roles in the proposed breakaway.
