Whatever the snag, it must be minor as Antalyaspor JPM Cape Town has already let the proverbial cat out of the bag – only to retract it.
This comes after Justin Paulsen’s (owner) Antalyaspor released a grammar-riddled statement on Thursday to confirm the club’s sale of their ABC Motsepe League-status to Seaside Spurs.
No Bones with Jones can confirm that the swap of statuses included cash as well. Furthermore, our website was informed that the club’s most recent captain Mario Booysen (pictured) will be at the helm for the new Hollywoodbets Third Division campaign.
The statement read: “Antalyaspor JPM CT would like to confirm the sale of the club’s WC ABC Motsepe League franchise to Seaside Spurs with immediate effect.
“Antalyaspor has intern acquired the ownership rights to Seaside Spurs FC Hollywoodbets Third Division RTD franchise. This acquisition strategically aligns with the clubs vision and focus on youth development.
“We would like to asure all our loyal supporters and followers that the club is embarking on a massive campaign and development programme, alongside our international partners, to continue to create opportunities for youth in Cape Town and surrounding cities. We look forward to campaigning in RTD,” the statement concluded.
No Bones with Jones has been informed that the deal was “90 percent concluded and a formality” but finds it rather strange that things are still stalling.
This news will definitely come as a shock to many but the reality is that Seaside, coached by the former Bafana bafana striker Gerald Stober, is an ambitious club that harbours desire to one day swim with the big fish in the PSL.
The biggest challenge for the club will be the financial burden – and grouped in Stream B with the majority of the clubs situated rurarly means that there will be big lots of traveling which at the end of the day adds up.
