Surprise, surprise….
One would have thought that Safa Western Cape would have learnt its lesson by now, but no!
Needless to say, there is a big possibility they could burn more than their fingers this time round with another potential legal battle looming.
It has come to light that Safa WC, who has been left with egg on their face after they lost the Arbitration against Santos and was ordered to pay a substantial amount in legal costs, has once again shown their blatant disregard for the rules and regulations.
No Bones with Jones can reveal that the province has already submitted a winner for the Women’s Sasol League’ national playoffs in Stellenbosch FC Ladies after the draw conducted at the Safa House on Tuesday (2 December).
The playoffs are set to take place at the Vaal University of Technology from 9-12 December 2025.
According to the draw which was brought under the attention of No Bones with Jones, Stellenbosch FC, the Western Cape representative, was drawn in Group A along with the Ramatlaohle FC (Gauteng) and Royal Wizards (Northern Cape) while Group B consists of All Stars (KZN), Central University (Free State), Super Strikers (Mpumalanga) and 4800 Ladies FC (Eastern Cape).
Now, bear in mind, these developments happened whilst Safa WC is still embroiled in a legal battle with the 14 clubs from the Safa Cape Town region who have not played any competitive football for a whole season after being kicked out of the league by the province.
Safa WC’s decision to elect Stellenbosch FC as the representative was done without any prior engagement or knowledge of the 14 clubs.
