The level of arrogance, incompetence and unwillingness from Safa Western Cape’s secretary Nadia Konstabel, is mind-boggling.
Furthermore, it is apparent that Safa WC does not act in the interest of its member clubs, which they are supposed to do, and blatantly ignores them time after time, sending them from pillar to post.
This comes after the FN Rangers chairman, Darryl Roelf, reached out to Safa WC, for a fourth time, to request the competition’s rules and clarity on the way forward.
Roelf also requested a meeting with the province to discuss the impact of both Safa National and Safa WC not abiding by the Arbitrator’s ruling that Santos FC be immediately reinstated in both the league and Nedbank Cup competitions.
“The delay in giving effect to the award is prejudicial to those clubs who remain in the Nedbank Cup competition and the clubs playing in the league,” Roelf wrote to the province. “The break in the league over this period provides an opportune moment for a meeting to be held and discuss any problems, real or perceived.
“Our club hereby reserves all our rights, none of which are waived, to challenge any and, or decisions taken by Safa (Provincial or National) and any outcome resulting from any and/or all decisions taken which prejudices it because the rules and regulations of competition for this league were not discussed or circulated before the start of the season,” Roelf concluded.
What is even more disturbing is the fact that Safa National has been absent and kept quiet, allowing this fiasco to continue, which begs the question, why?
Why is the SA football boss, Danny Jordaan (pictured left), not intervening to remedy the situation, as the only losers are the players and the beautiful game?
What is it that Safa WC’s chairman Tankiso Modipa (pictured right) has (on Jordaan) that prevents Jordaan from taking decisive action and putting an end to this circus-like behaviour that is carrying on for way too long?
What can it be?
