Stellies confirm talks with Pirates over Faiz’s move to Premier League champs

Stellenbosch FC CEO Rob Benadie has responded to recent reports linking their talented u.21 national winger, Faiz Abrahams, with a move to the Soweto giants Orlando Pirates.

It’s believed that the defending Betway Premier League champions have submitted an official offer for the talented winger, which was confirmed by Benadie.

“It’s actually still so early in the process and a shame that it is somehow already shared in the media, as it puts the potential deal at risk,” Benadie revealed to No Bones with Jones. “The clubs need to find each other and the player needs to agree if the clubs reach an initial agreement,” Benadie added.

Our website has been informed that Abrahams is keen on a move and has already signalled his intentions to the Stellenbosch management to seek greener pastures.

Despite making only three appearances for Stellies under coach Gavin Hunt this season, it’s clear that Abrahams remains in high regard due to his explosive pace and the fact that he can still further develop, which makes him a good investment – and this is exactly why the Buccaneers are willing to gamble on the former Cape Town Spurs product.

Abrahams also endured a difficult past 12 months, where he spent six of it on loan at the Israeli second division side Hapoel Kfar Saba, but returned to his home country after going AWOL from the club.
