Ikapa’s owner, Pietie Soprano pulls off major coup with serial winner Purdy

Ikapa Sporting owner Shaun Pietersen is in a bullish mood ahead of the new ABC Motsepe League season following a “status-saving” previous campaign when they barely survived relegation.

It’s because the straight shooter Pietersen, known as “Pietie Soprano,” has pulled off a major coup with Durbanville City’s Graham Purdy who has been appointed as the club’s latest tactician that will be working closely with head coach Zane Ryklief.

In fact, Purdy’s position at Ikapa is so major that they still have to figure out what designation to be given to this serial winner of a coach who had huge prior success with clubs like Durbanville, Hellenic and Edgemead.

Purdy is also on track to lead City to promotion success in the Cape Town Tygerberg LFA which underlines why Pietersen has roped in Purdy

“Last season was a status-saving season which left us with three points after the first 12 games as we had managed the situation with the (Zizwe United) players following the takeover, but this season is a totally different story,” Pietersen pointed out to No Bones with Jones. “I mean the fact that we have bolstered our technical team shows our intent, you know,” Pietersen added.
