Boss of struggling YMO FC eyes Motsepe franchise first before selling off Third Division status

YMO FC owner Mark Slinger says he will only sell his Third Division status once he has acquired an ABC Motsepe League franchise of his own.

Slingers’ confirmation comes after rumours emerged that YMO, who is currently based at the Downberg Road Sport Complex along with rivals Premier United, is on the market for around R250 000, but Slingers has dispelled these allegations.

“Once I purchase the Motsepe (League) status, then I’ll sell (my Third Division status), yes,” Slingers revealed to No Bones with Jones. “That’s a different league for another day, and the quality of the players has to improve, you know. But if any of this happens, you’ll be the first, or one of the first to know,” Slingers concluded.

Last season, Rieduwaan Anthony’s Hanover Park FC announced that they have joined forces with the Third Division rookies – and just as their debut season, YMO barely survived this season as well.

Slingers will definitely have to relook their strategy going forward to earn some respect and credibility, as they have not been adding value to the so-called “Graveyard” league.

Perhaps YMO should get themselves in better shape in the near future in order to justify whatever price tag they put on themselves
