Chumani Kobeni, (pictured far right) owner and Chairman of CCK Legacy, has acquired the Hollywoodbets Third Division status of Electric City United from the Cape Winelands region.
No Bones with Jones can confirm that CCK will in the coming days make the official announcement as Kobeni is just waiting for the “lawyers to finalise the legal documents” following the full purchase price of R100 000 of Electric City.
City is originally from Eerste River but has been playing Third Division in the Cape Winelands for the previous three seasons.
Electric City were also at the centre of a massive controversy, when a team consisting of LFA players, was sent to the Third Division Play-offs, and got hammered. This was part of the ‘Goalgate Scandal’ which rocked Cape Town football.
Meanwhile, our website was also informed that CCK, who is based in Fisantekraal, is awaiting their academy status acknowledgment from SAFA Cape Town.
CCK, who will have to play under Electric’s banner for this season in the Third Division, will be competing in both the Cape Winelands and Safa Cape Town regions for the upcoming season.
