Fresh ‘Ocean’ breeze blows away politics and creates stability, says Patterson

Ocean View FC has turned over a new page and looks like a breath of fresh in this season Hollywoodbets Third Division campaign.

Gone are the days where the club was curtailed by politics, says head coach Denver Patterson (pictured) who returned to the Ocean View for a second stint.

Patterson, who is assisted by Zain Brown as well as Cliffie Carelse (in the background), is convinced that better days are definitely on the horizon for the club.

The coastal side are unbeaten in their first two games of the season which include a 2-2 draw with JL Zwane as well as an impressive 4-1 win over newcomer Goodhope FC last weekend.

According to Patterson the introspection and intervention was necessary as the club narrowly escaped relegation for a second successive season to retain their third division status.

“We have decided to just focus on football,” Patterson told No Bones with Jones. “Politics kept us behind you know but we have moved on. We refreshed the team with new players and some former players returned. We want to start fresh and stabilize things,” he added.

Ocean View FC  was once the club to play for when they were still competing in the ABC Motsepe League a couple of seasons ago.

This all changed and with the inception of Seaside Spurs who have stolen the limelight and attracted a lot of players due to their diligent and savvy business they conduct.

Pietersen feels there is a place for every club within their community to play its role.

“The more avenues we can create for our youth the better for everyone,” Patterson further added. “It is our responsibility to ensure that we provide the youth with that platform,” he concluded.

Patterson and his troops welcome Silver Spurs to the Ocean View Sportfield (13:00) on Saturday.
