Gerald to be the new Don as administrator at CDFA

No Bones with Jones can confirm that the former president of Safa Western Cape and Safa NEC Member Gerlad Don will in all likelihood be the administrator to steady the ship at the Cape District Football Association (CDFA).

Following Safa CT’s Annual Congress resolution on Sunday, in which the CDFA was put under Administration, an agreement was reached to appoint Don, the current president of Safa West Coast, as administrator.

The region has subsequently sent out communication to its LFA affiliates whereby they need to either confirm or oppose the candidate by no later than Tuesday (5 March).

The terms of reference are as follows:
1. Don will be deployed for a minimum period of six months and will be assisted by Ms Baderoeniesa Jordan (Secretary), commencing from 6 March 2024.
2. The Congress will consider their report and advise on a way forward.
3. That the administration of the LFA resorts under their control for the period that the LFA is under administration.
4. That the Administrator takes the LFA to the Annual General Meeting and makes sure that all protocols are adhered to.
5. That the Administrator advises the Region as to appropriate action to be taken against the individuals who ignored the directives from SAFA CT not to continue with the Annual General Meeting and refusal to cooperate with SAFA CT in their investigation into the affairs of the LFA.
6. That the Cape District LFA constitution be aligned to that of SAFA CT.
7. That the Administrator strengthened the relationship and confidence between SAFA CT and the LFA.
8. That confidence can be restored between SAFA CT, LFA and Clubs.
9. That the Administrator and his assistant develop a football program, inclusive of administration, conducive for the LFA.
10. That the Administrator finalise communication protocols for all future correspondence to the LFA during his tenure as Administrator.

Our website has also been informed that Muneerah Emandien will be the CDFA’s secretary to the administrator.
