Annually an Easter weekend is synonymous with pickled fish and Easter eggs.
But for football lovers in the Mother City it’s a combination of the above and of course – the prestigious Bayhill Premier Cup.
Most football lovers will testify that they would be able to go without their preferred delicacies over this period – but not without their dose of tournament football which only the Bayhill Easter spectacle can provide.
Remember the uproar towards the City of Cape Town when the tournament was cancelled in 2018 due to the drought – so deep the love for footy runs in our amateur communities.
With the 35th edition of this one-of-a-kind event finally here, it is only fitting that the tournament director Rayaan Alie gives us his take on things.
