Justice Henney orders halt on National Ladies’ Playoffs, another matter set for arbitration

Safa Western Cape has yet again been found wanting due to their blatant disregard for the judicial system, resulting in Justice Henney ordering the province to stop the National Ladies’ playoffs that were set to start from 9-12 December at the Vaal University of Technology.

This follows after the province unscrupulously submitted a winner for the Women’s Sasol League’s national playoffs in Stellenbosch FC Ladies after the draw conducted at the Safa House on Tuesday (2 December) – whilst a court case between Safa WC and the 14 Sasol League sides is still pending.

This matter is now set for arbitration yet again. Needless to say, the chickens have come home to roost as the ongoing poor football administration is finally catching up with Safa WC. Justice Henney ordered that Stellenbosch FC cannot play in the national Sasol League play-offs and interdicted Safa from including them.

The status of Stellenbosch Ladies FC is now being questioned because there were no provincial play-offs. Furthermore, they only played in a 10-team league instead of a 12-team league required by the Regulations.

Safa WC also suspended 14 Sasol League clubs for an entire season, which is sheer madness!
