In a bizarre twist of events, a referee from the Mitchells Plain LFA has ‘innocently’ landed himself in hot water – again!
No Bones with Jones was informed that the official, whose identity is known to our website, now faces a possible suspension following his participation as a match official at the youth festival held at the Johnston Road sportfielfd last week.
Our website was informed that the official only recently returned from suspension and is currently under suspension for not appearing at a DC hearing.
Furthermore, he officiated at the Cubs apparently without permission of his LFA – and this will now be added to his chargesheet.
According to Gilbert Kruger, president of the Mitchells Plain LFA it’s rather unfortunate that the referee is already under suspension for not appearing at a DC.
“And we have made it so easy now for referees to appear at a DC by running two DC ‘s sittings concurrently on the same night just to speed up the process,” Gilbert told No Bones with Jones. “As you know when referees don’t appear (at a DC) players tend to deny what the referee wrote in their report. So it is imperative that referees do come to the DC meetings, you know,” Gilbert concluded.
