The jury has been out regarding the Goalgate scandal despite Safa Cape Town’s ongoing investigation.
There is a perception amongst the football fraternity that this investigation is a farce and will be swept under the carpet.
However, our website has reliably been informed that the investigating team, along with the Disciplinary Committee (DC), is well on its way and making good progress.
“All I can tell you for now is that it is a process,” a reliable source told No Bones with Jones. “So, contrary to what people think, we are working on leads to get to the bottom of everything.”
The investigation took another twist when Westridge FC’s chairman Reginald Rorich was summoned last week for alleged comments he made on Facebook regarding “brown envelopes” doing the rounds at the Third Division Playoffs at the William Herbert Sport Complex.
Rorich claims that he first hand witnessed the alleged bribery at the playoffs and was scheduled to appear in front of the DC on Tuesday (5 December) to clarify his alleged statements made on a public platform. However, it has come to light that the matter has been postponed for a later date.
Recommendations about the involvement of West Coast City and Electric City have already been submitted to the DC but this outcome is pending the ongoing investigations.
