Offers mount for Ikapa’s franchise – as owner buys Pretoria Callies

While Ikapa Sporting FC has been inundated with offers to buy its ABC Motsepe League franchise, its owner Shaun Petersen has simultaneously shown his buying power and gone and bought the First Division club Pretoria Callies.

No Bones with Jones has been informed that Petersen, along with a group of Royal Bafokeng, has joined forces to acquire Callies.

This is indeed a progressive move for Petersen who holds the record of the longest-serving club in the Second Division.

Meanwhile, our website has been in contact with a couple of these potential suitors who revealed – only under anonymity  – that they are willing to meet the asking price of R450 000 price tag set out by the club’s owner (Petersen).

Our website understands that Garlandale FC and Ocean View FC have apparently also shown interest.
It must be mentioned that this is not the first time that Petersen has put his club on the market – which will probably create the impression of “here we go again.”

That said, the anonymous potential buyer revealed there has been “conversation and some engagements.”

“The ball is in his court as I am waiting for him to get back to me,” said the potential buyer to No Bones with Jones. “So, I am not sure where I stand but let’s wait and see what happens,” the potential buyer said!I

Petersen is flying from Joburg today to meet with another potential buyer to wrap up the deal.  Should this deal happen, a massive shock is waiting on the horizon as the new kid on the block in the Motsepe League.

A source at Ikapa said that the club will make an official announcement in due course.
