Safa Cape Town is set to roll out the red carpet to commemorate the lives and achievements of Cape Town’s finest former legends and masters of the beautiful game.
This event, which will be held at the Athlone Stadium on Thursday 24 September, also coincides with Heritage Day which should add to the activities and festivities.
No Bones with Jones believes that stalwarts like the former Glenville United and Cape Town Spurs icon, Pepe Dos Santos and the former Bafana Bafana goalie coach, Farouk Abrahams, are amongst the individuals set to be honoured at event which will be hosted by a man who needs no introduction, Boebie Solomons.
Another giant in the game, Sergio Dos Santos, brother of Pepe, will also be in attendance along with other legends that played at the most difficult time.
Pepe fell ill recently but it’s believed that he is slowly returning to his old self. During his playing days, Pepe featured for clubs like Hellenic, Cape Town City, Arcadia Shepherds and Bloemfontein City.
