Ikapa Sporting owner Shaun Pietersen has set the record straight regarding the potential takeover from the Motsepe Foundation Championship’s First Division outfit Pretoria Callies.
Pietersen, who was pulling the strings in Joburg for the previous week, revealed to our website that he concluded a deal to acquire a 50% stake in Callies.
“There is also the agreement of supplying them with players, for sure,” Pietersen told No Bones with Jones. “But that’s all I can share with you at this stage.”
This revelation comes after information was apparently ‘leaked’ on social media which depicted Ikapa’s ‘official’ takeover of Callies has been completed.
However, this was later refuted by Callies in a media post which stated that no deal has been concluded between Ikapa and Callies.
Pietersen informed our website that he is on a mission to get more local players a step closer to playing in the PSL and that his acquisition of half of the Callies franchise, is testimony thereof.
