YMO FC might boast with the Third Division’s leading goal poacher in Rushan Abrahams, but it’s their leaky defence that needs some serious attention.
This comes after the Hanover Park-based side lost a third match out of five following a 2-4 defeat to Trinitarians at the Downberg Sport Complex on Tuesday evening.
Who else but Abrahams opened the scoring for the home side but Trinnies restored parity just before halftime through a brilliant freekick from Rubin Jacobs.
Abrahams netted his 11th goal of the season to put the homeside’s noses in front after the break, only for the Northerns-based side to draw level soon thanks to a well-taken goal by Liam Filander.
YMO’s missed chances in the second half came to haunt them when Trinnies took the lead for the first time when Filander added his second which left YMO’s coaching duo of Lwazi Galada and Timothy Johannes scratching their heads.
YMO have now leaked in 18 goals in five matches which should be a real cause of concern for Galada and Johannes.
Trinnies buried the final nail in the coffin when Chandler Brooks converted a penalty late in the second half to ensure Trinnies was back to winning ways after their 1-2 defeat to Saxon Rovers over the weekend.
This victory is just what the doctor ordered leading up to their derby against Matroosfontein FC at Elsbury Park on Saturday.
