Safa CT sponsorship deal with international company can be stepping stone to Bafana, says Danny Jordaan

Amateur footballers have something to strive for following the launch of the new partnership between the Netherlands-based Sports company Masita and Safa Cape Town.

The fact that the president of the South African Football Association Danny Jordaan braved the wet and cold weather in Cape Town to avail himself, underlines the magnitude of the multi-million-rand apparel deal officially announced at the Garden Route, Nelson Mandela Boulevard in Walmer Estate on Saturday evening.

Jordaan, who spoke at length, reiterated to the audience how big of a deal this sponsorship is for amateur football in Cape Town.

The SA football boss had a message for the models/players of various age groups and genders who paraded the new sponsored apparel: “I am aware this is not the colours of your club but it the colours of the region,” Jordaan stated.

“You can feel what it is like to wear regional colours and let this be a stepping stone to inspire you now to strive to play for your Bafana Bafana national team one day,” Jordaan added.

Masita’s owner Vivek Kohli, wh could not be present due to a family emergency, stated during his Zoom link-up that Safa CT’s solid structures makes it a perfect reference to invest in grassroots football.

“The idea is to grow together and help the game to flourish at amateur level,” Kohli added.

Meanwhile, Safa has announced that all the (Coke Cup) matches have been called off due to inclement weather – despite the fact that some LFA’s hosted junior games on Saturday.
