Safa CT to provide clarity on finances to Athlone LFA at one-on-one meeting

Safa Cape Town is meeting with the Athlone District LFA on Tuesday (24 February) to clarify some issues raised by Athlone LFA at the Congress recently regarding the Mother body’s financial affairs.

President Bruce Malagas (pictured) and his Athlone Mancom should hopefully get their answers they requested at the previous Congress, to bury the matter for once and for all.

No Bones with Jones understands there are also two constitutional matters that were raised that also require attention, but this can only be tabled at the next  Congress.

No Bones with Jones has gathered that the region is flirting with the idea to adopt a constitutional amendment such as bringing on an assistant treasurer to the Mancom.

Then the Athlone LFA also proposed a decrease of the current number of REC members  from 35 to about 20 or so.

Now, knowing the Safa Cape Town president, Bennett Bailey, he’ll obviously use this opportunity with subtle canvasing and lobbying – which is fair to play him. The only drawback is that the members at the Athlone LFA is progressive thinkers and cannot be easily fooled or manipulated. So, let’s wait and see what Wednesday (tomorrow) delivers!
