Vasco da Gama head coach Andrew Pequeno can breathe a sigh of relief knowing that he can now fully plan for their Nedbank Cup Provincial Final against Greenwood Athletic at Solo Street.
This comes after Safa Western Cape confirmed that the game will be decided on Saturday (23 November) at Greenwood’s base in Retreat.
Pequeno was up until recently in limbo as he was unaware if he had to prepare for a Cup Final or a league game.
Needless to say, the Vasco boss would not be too bothered to travel to Retreat as it could have been worse had one of the teams from the other regions won – this would have meant that Vasco would have had to travel outside Cape Town.
“I think for the neutral this could be a good game with two teams high on confidence,” Pequeno told No Bones with Jones. “As I’ve said before, we will give them the respect they deserve. May the best team win,” he concluded.
The winner will secure a place in the Round of 32 and might even be drawn against a PSL-side.
